Five weekly workshops that get you thinking on the same page without a lot of direct confrontation or embarassing over-sharing.

A luxe and all-inclusive couples retreat in a natural haven complete with chef-prepared candlelight dinner and dancing (with a pro coach) to restore and relax.

We will map out how to connect the dots between your physical and emotional responses to life's stressors to rekindle joy in being together.
FOUR
You will redefine your hopes and dreams as a couple and take the first steps toward the life of flourishing you've always imagined.
THE RETREAT
North Royalton MetroPARK
From Friday at 5pm until noon on Sunday (with no rush to get out the door until Monday morning), we'll luxuriate in this forested cabin property, complete with hot tub, sauna, game room and full workout suite. All meals are included (can't wait for the chef-prepared candlelight dinner and dancing!), and we'll even send you out into the work-week with a packed lunch on Monday morning, if you like.

We're
David and Laurel!
To be honest, there were times it felt like we couldn't endure one more day of the distance between us, let alone another decade!
All the woes in our vows that we promised to live through together have occured. Yet we're still standing, and we're better friends and lovers than ever.
We've been married more than 33 years (and have over 286 years of marriage among our parents and siblings!). David has, for two decades+, been a minister among scholars and professionals from all over the world, and Laurel is a psychiatric mental health nurse practioner, former college professor, and ethnomusicologist.
There is no perfect marriage, but we love ours the best.
We're committed to seeing the peace and joy that permeates our lives become part of your story, too!
Let’s talk Playbook details
What is included?
Five weekly virtual workshops on topics that will move your relationship from languishing to flourishing. Live sessions will be held on Saturday mornings, 8:45am EST and replays will be sent to all participants by email shortly afterward.
You will get a printable workbook for taking notes and recording your hopes and dreams.
The retreat is a 3-night all-inclusive stay in North Royalton, Ohio on the border of the gorgeous Cleveland Metropark.
Workshops: January 13 to February 10, 2024
Retreat: 5pm Friday, February 16 to noon Sunday, Feb 18, 2024 and stay until Monday as our guests
Will food be provided during the retreat?
Yes! Meals, drinks and snacks are all arranged from Friday night to Sunday noon and that includes a chef-prepared candlelight dinner with dancing on Saturday evening--we'll even bring in a pro to show us some moves.
If you'll be staying over until Monday morning, let us know so we can pack your lunch for the work day.
What will we do?
Each of the workshops (five virtual and three during the retreat) will focus on practical mind-body techniques to soothe the nervous system, actionable lessons on communication learned through group drumming, and strategic planning for your future together.
How many people will be attending?
The retreat will be maxed out at 3 couples for this location. We're planning for a relaxed pace and individualized attention for each couple.
There will be a DIY retreat version for couples who will join us for the virtual sessions only.
Are there any other things to consider?
If you would like add-ons for your retreat experience, on Saturday afternoon a makeup artist and photographer will be on site for couple mini photo sessions, and, on Sunday afternoon, a therapist will be available for relaxation massage.

In addition to the group training, each attending couple will receive individualized feedback and a personalized strategy for making the most of their natural gifts and strengths.
